Why use this audio volume booster

Nothing to install

Add an audio file, pick a volume level, and download the louder copy. It runs in the browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.

Exact volume steps

Pick a percentage from 5% to 400% instead of guessing with a slider. 200% doubles the level, 50% halves it, and 100% leaves the file as it is.

Private by default

Every upload and every result travels over an encrypted connection. Your recordings are not shared, published, or listened to by anyone.

How to increase MP3 volume online

Increase the volume of your audio files easily with Audio2Edit's Volume Booster.

Whether you're editing podcasts, music tracks, or voice recordings, this feature helps you improve audio quality and make every sound clear. With simple controls and an intuitive interface, Audio2Edit makes it easy to boost your audio and create professional results.

The volume you pick is applied to the whole file, not to one passage. A quiet MP3 gets louder from the first second to the last. MP3 is only the most common case. AAC, AIFF, FLAC, M4A, OGG, Opus, WAV, and WMA files go through the same app, and you can add several at once.

Make audio louder without clipping

A volume booster multiplies the waveform. Every sample is scaled by the same factor, so a track that already peaks near the maximum has nowhere left to go. The peaks get flattened against the ceiling, and that is heard as crackle or a harsh edge on drums and consonants. The effect is called clipping, and it cannot be removed afterwards.

Quiet material has plenty of headroom and takes a large boost cleanly. Speech recorded across a room is usually fine at 250% or 300%. A commercial music track is mastered close to the ceiling already, so 125% or 150% is the safer first step.

Work upwards, not downwards. Boost once, then listen to the loudest passage. If the file still sounds quiet, run the original again at a higher percentage. Do not boost the boosted copy.

Volume booster or audio normalizer?

The volume booster applies one multiplier that you choose. Every part of the track changes by the same factor, and the balance between loud and quiet passages stays exactly as it was. That is what you want when a single file is simply too quiet.

Normalization measures the file first and then moves it to a target loudness. Use it when several recordings have to match each other. It also helps when an interview jumps between a loud and a quiet speaker. The same goes for a podcast that has to hit a broadcast level such as -23 LUFS.

The two apps solve different problems, and both are free here. Boost first if the file is quiet, normalize if the levels are uneven.

Volume booster FAQ

Is the audio volume booster free?

Yes. Boosting the volume of an audio file is free and needs no account. A subscription only raises the file size limit and removes the queue at busy times.

How do I increase MP3 volume online?

Upload the MP3 above, pick a percentage higher than 100%, and start the job. The track is written out again at the new level, and you download the louder file when it is ready.

Will boosting the volume reduce audio quality?

The multiplier on its own does not remove detail. Quality drops when the level is pushed past what the file can hold and the peaks clip. Boost in steps and listen to the loudest passage before going higher.

How much louder can I make audio?

Up to 400%, which is four times the original level. Quiet speech recordings usually sound right between 150% and 250%, while music that is already mastered needs much less.

Can I lower the volume instead of boosting it?

Yes. The same app works as a volume changer. Pick 90%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10%, or 5% to make a file quieter, or 0% to mute it completely.

Does this make my speakers louder?

No. This audio volume booster changes the level stored inside the file, so the file plays louder on every device and in every player. It does not touch your system, browser, or headphone volume.

Can I make an audio file louder on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your mobile browser and pick the file from your device or cloud storage. There is no app to install, and it works the same on Android and iOS.

Which audio formats can I boost?

MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, AIFF, FLAC, OGG, Opus, and WMA. Add several files at once and each one comes back with the same volume change applied.
